Still Waters Vineyard & Winery
If you caught my Instagram post from Sunday, I posted a picture from Still Waters Vineyard and Winery following my adventure drive out to see the Super Bloom (click here for that blog) with the caption "Forget the Super Bloom, this place is beautiful!" I meant every word of that caption; this place IS beautiful!
Returning from Carrizo Plains, my friend Julia and I took a bit of a detour before heading home and ended up on the "Creston Wine Trail". We saw a couple of winery and tasting room signs, but decided to stop at Sill Waters and, wow, what a gem! This place was gorgeous! Honestly, Julia and I should've come here for the day. We could've enjoyed our picnic lunch on one of their many tables, drank some wine, and played several rounds of corn hole and bocce ball. It would've been a perfect day!
According to their website, Still Waters Vineyard is located at 2750 Old Grove Lane in Paso Robles. The long drive up their driveway towards their tasting room allows you plenty of time to enjoy the scenery. The place is so serene!
The entire staff was very friendly and inviting; I half expected cartoon characters to come out of the wood work to greet us and pour us wine, like some Disney movie (but a Disney movie with booze).
There were several tasting location options - at their little outdoor bar, inside the tasting room itself, or at one of the many picnic tables around the premises. If you choose the picnic tables, as we did, one of the staff members will bring the wine to you. Such service!
Still Waters tasting is $10 for 7 tastes from the day's tasting menu, and includes some bread and olive oil. The tasting fee is waived with the purchase of 1 bottle.
If you haven't read my last wine tasting blog (click here), I should let you know that I am much more a white wine fan than red, with port being the exception. Still Waters was very accommodating and catered the tasting to us, even opening bottles for us to try. Their pours were very generous, once again making me wish we had just come here instead of going all the way out Carrizo Plains.
Julia ended up buying a bottle of their Zin and I bought a bottle of their sparkling.
I am definitely returning to this winery again with friends for a day of picnic, wine, and games. It was so peaceful, I loved it!
